Galatasaray forward Michy Batshuayi, a teammate of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, has reported falling victim to a scam that cost him a significant sum of money.

Batshuayi duped over rent and vehicle deal

The Belgian footballer revealed he was defrauded of $212,000 (approximately ₦353 million) by an individual who promised to arrange accommodations and a vehicle for him in Turkey.

According to reports, Batshuayi entrusted a consultant identified as H.B. to handle a six-month rent payment and secure a vehicle in Besiktas.

However, neither the housing arrangements nor the vehicle materialised, prompting the footballer to file an official complaint.

Authorities detained H.B., who was later presented in court and released under judicial supervision.

Batshuayi chasing damages after alleged scam

Despite the release, investigations into the case are ongoing, as Batshuayi seeks justice for the financial and personal inconvenience caused by the fraud.
