Nigeria Super Eagles icon Nwankwo Kanu has taken decisive action to bolster Enyimba FC's squad as the club seeks to recover from a challenging season.

In a bid to strengthen the team and secure a strong finish in the ongoing 2024/2025 campaign, Enyimba has officially announced the signing of eight new players.

The People's Elephant, currently sitting 10th in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and having recently crashed out of the CAF Confederation Cup, has struggled with just two wins in their last ten matches across all competitions.

However, following a much-needed victory against Rivers United, the club is looking to build momentum.

The new signings include experienced Super Eagles star Junior Lokosa, who previously played for relegated side Sporting Lagos, and centre-back Afolanyan Peters from Heartland FC.

Additionally, attacking midfielder Opeoluwa Olufemi joins from Sunshine Stars, while defensive midfielder Gozie Umeh also makes the switch from Sunshine Stars.

Midfielder Quadiri Olusunkanmi is another addition from Heartland FC, alongside left-back Solomon Onome, who brings his expertise to the defensive line.

Furthermore, Nelson Micheal, formerly of Shashemene Kanema in Ethiopia, and defender Ebube Micheal have also signed with the club.
