Pedro Porro to Tottenham back on with agreement reached
Tottenham have reportedly reached an agreement to the tune of €45 million with Sporting Lisbon for the signing of Pedro Porro.
The Premier League club have been negotiating for the 23-year-old wing-back since the earlier of the transfer window. An agreement was reported to have been reached some days ago, but the deal fell through as Sporting Lisbon were said to have reneged on it. Both parties are evidently back at the table, and the player is set to join Spurs.
Pedro Porro to Tottenham
The Athletic’s David Ornstein reports that Tottenham have reached an agreement for Pedro Porro worth €45 million.
The agreement comes after Sporting’s president assured Porro he would be allowed to leave following the Portuguese League Cup final loss to Porto.
Porro, who has been a main feature in Ruben Amorim’s side, is set to leave the club he won three trophies with; the Portuguese League once and the League Cup twice.
In 98 appearances for the club, the Spaniard scored 12 goals and gave 20 assists, and he is poised to be replaced by Hector Bellerin, for whom Sporting is close to completing a deal with Barcelona.
Tottenham, on the other hand, are set to loan Djed Spence to Rennes to make room for the former Manchester City player.
Djed Spence set to join Rennes
Sky Sports reports that Rennes have reached an agreement to sign Djed Spence on loan from Tottenham.
The 22-year-old signed for Tottenham for a €14.70 million fee from Middlesbrough in the summer; however, he has been used sparingly by Antonio Conte.
Spence has only featured six times for Tottenham since signing, and the arrival of Porro would only mean lesser game time. He is now set to join Rennes.
