Record-breaking Haaland takes April award
Erling Haaland's achievements in the month of April will be remembered for decades to come, but in the meantime, he has been awarded the Premier League Player of the Month.
The 22-year-old Manchester City star had a historic month personally and has led his team back to the top of the Premier League, deposing long-standing leader Arsenal.

Haaland's historic month of April
The Manchester City top scorer rose to the pinnacle of English football history, becoming the top scorer in a single Premier League campaign with his strike against West Ham in May; however, in the prior month—which is the period in review—he became the top scorer in a single 38-game Premier League season.
The Norwegian won all four league games he played in the month, scoring six times and assisting two others.
This included a goal and two assists in the crucial top-of-the-table clash against high-flying Arsenal, which ensured they had the fate of their title defence in their own hands.
Haaland wins FWA Player of the Year
As we reported earlier, Erling Haaland scored 51 goals in 47 games for Manchester City this season and has been the overwhelming favourite to sweep all the individual awards up for grabs.
First on the list, though, is the Football Writers' Association award, and the Norwegian now bags what will surely be the first of many in a Manchester City shirt.
Haaland received 82 per cent of the FWA vote, ahead of Arsenal duo Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard.
