Report: Liverpool begins initial talks with Leverkusen star as Arnold replacement

Liverpool are set to lose Alexander Arnold to Real Madrid this summer after the full-back failed to sign a new contract.

Following his departure, Liverpool have set their sights on Bayer Leverkusen wing-back Frimpong as a possible replacement.

Bayer Leverkusen's right-sided wingback is a highly sought-after player in Europe and has attracted the attention of the Reds.

According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool's interest in Frimpong could accelerate due to Trent Alexander-Arnold's reported move to Real Madrid. 

Sources suggest that an agreement is already in place for the England international to join the European champions.

A move to Merseyside would see Frimpong face stiff competition from Conor Bradley, who many believe could replace Arnold 

Alexander-Arnold has scored 22 goals and provided 87 assists during his years at Liverpool and has won eight trophies with his boyhood club.

He has been a cornerstone of Liverpool's immense success in recent years, amassing 349 appearances since then.
