Report: Liverpool preparing transfer move for Super Eagles star as Salah’s replacement
Salah has started the new season in stunning form and his performance helped Liverpool stay top of the Premier League table.
However, he has yet to sign a new contract with the Reds and has not been offered a new deal by the club.
The Egyptian’s contract is set to expire at the end of this ongoing season and will be a free agent when the transfer window opens.
Liverpool eye’s Lookman
Following Salah’s contract situation at Anfield, the Reds are already scouting for a possible replacement for the winger.
According to the Italian publication Gazzetta, Liverpool have identified Super Eagles star Lookman as the best player to sign to replace Salah if he leaves.
Salah has been in outstanding form this season with 13 goals and eight assists in 20 appearances for Liverpool this season.
The 32-year-old increased his goal tally against Newcastle, scoring two goals and providing one assist in Liverpool's 3-3 draw at Saint James Park.
However, he has acknowledged that it is unknown what his future holds at the club and he is yet to be offered a contract.
The Egyptian winger recently said, "I'm more out than in," and disclosed that no offer of a contract extension had been made.
Salah has also been linked with a move to top clubs in Europe, with the likes of PSG interested in the winger.
