Manchester United are reportedly considering a move for Brighton & Hove Albion goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen as a potential replacement for Andre Onana.

Concerns have arisen over the shot-stopper’s recent performances and his apparent unhappiness at Old Trafford.

Onana's recent struggles, including a costly error in Manchester United's Boxing Day defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers, have fuelled speculation about his future.

Despite having Altay Bayindir as a backup option, the Red Devils appear to be prioritising a long-term solution in goal.

According to the Daily Star, the Cameroonian has been unsettled since joining Manchester United, and his dissatisfaction has grown since Ruben Amorim replaced Erik ten Hag as manager.

This has prompted the club to begin searching for potential replacements, with Verbruggen emerging as a prime target.

The 22-year-old Dutch international has impressed since joining Brighton from Anderlecht in 2023, establishing himself as the club's first-choice goalkeeper and is widely regarded as one of the most promising young talents in European football.

Manchester United reportedly value Verbruggen at around £30 million but could face competition from Real Madrid, who are also said to be interested in the shot-stopper.

The 22-year-old Belgian has caught the eye with his performances this season, attracting interest from Borussia Dortmund.

However, a January move for either goalkeeper seems unlikely, with the Red Devils not currently prioritising the signing of a new stopper in the winter window.
