Report: Olympiakos set to snatch deal from Trabzonspor for signing of Super Eagles star Onyemaechi

According to reports, Olympiakos have made a move to beat Trabzonspor for the signing of Bruno Onyemaechi.

The Super Eagles star has drawn attention from teams in Greece following an impressive season with Boavista.

Despite the team's difficulties in the Primeira Liga, the defender has three goals and one assist in 18 league games.

With twelve points after eighteen games, Boavista sits at the bottom of the Liga Portugal table and might be relegated to the second division the following season.

Onyemaechi on the move

According to Portuguese sports daily O Jogo, Olympiakos is reportedly in advanced talks to sign Onyemaechi from Boavista during the January transfer window.

.The Greek team have reportedly made an offer of €2.5 million, or N4.1 billion in Nigerian currency, and are keen to complete the transaction as soon as possible.

At first, Trabzonspor was thought to be the favourite for Onyemaechi, but it seems that Olympiakos is now leading the race. 

The player and Boavista must make a crucial choice with less than two weeks left until the winter transfer window ends.

If the deal goes through, Onyemaechi will have the chance to compete for the league title, play regularly in European tournaments, and further display his abilities on a bigger platform.

This season, Onyemaechi has played for Boavista in a variety of roles, including left-winger and defence.

On Thursday, he is expected to travel to Greece, when they play Porto in the UEFA Europa League.
