Ki had the best possible preparation for his wedding when he bagged a hat-trick as Yanga thrashed KMC 6-1 in the Tanzanian top flight on Friday and he was in great mood as he showed up at the Lugalo Golf Club in Dar es Salaam for his dowry payment.

The Burkina Faso international arrived in a convoy of luxury cars, accompanied by some his Yanga team-mates as well as the club’s president Hersi Said and spokesman Ally Kamwe, stunning in an African attire to be welcomed by his wife-to-be.

Ki was ushered into the venue by the bridesmaids, who danced to some local tunes, and went straight into the dowry negotiation room where he completed the exercise.

Reports in Tanzanian media say the striker’s dowry payment included 30 cows and an unspecified amount of money and after the ceremony, the two changed outfits for their engagement.

Mobetto was in tears as Ki rolled the ring on her finger to affirm his commitment to her. Dressed in a black tuxedo while his bride was stunning in a red dress this time, Ki and Mobetto then kissed briefly, before walking past the guests for some photo sessions as those present cheered.

It is the first of the two’s three-day wedding ceremony that will be followed by Nikkah (an Islamic marriage ceremony where a man and woman sign a marriage contract) on Sunday, before ending with the celebration on Wednesday February 19.

Ki has a busy schedule on his hands as he is juggling the wedding and his football commitments with Yanga, who have a home match against Singida Black Stars on Monday, a game he is expected to play a prominent role in, just like on Friday.
