Rinsola Babajide: England-born star celebrates Super Falcons victory against South Africa with fans

The Nigerian Super Falcons moved one step closer to earning a spot in the 2024 Olympic football competition in Paris after defeating South Africa 1-0.

Rasheedat Ajibade's penalty strike in the 43rd minute gave the Nigerians the lead in Friday's first leg of the qualifiers, which was held in Abuja.

The Super Falcons hung on to win the game without any goals being scored in the second half.

Babajide who plays for Tenerife in Spain did not start the game.

However, she was introduced to Uchenna Kanu in the 75th minute.

After the game, Babajide took to social media to celebrate the victory with the fans.

Along with photos was the fans was a message that said, "Thanks to everyone who came out last night 💚 The support yesterday was immense 🥰 Love you Abuja 🇳🇬"

Born to Nigerian immigrant parents, Babajide had the option to represent England or Nigeria at the international level.

The second match between the two African heavyweights will take place at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on April 9, 2024.
