Show up for Super Falcons too - African champion Alozie calls for equal support after Nigeria Super Eagles vs Rwanda FIFA WCQ
Super Falcons defender Michelle Alozie has called on Nigerian fans to extend the same level of support to the women’s national team as they do for the Super Eagles.
Her plea came after Nigeria’s men’s team secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Rwanda in a crucial FIFA World Cup qualifying match on Saturday evening.
Alozie, who recently played a key role in helping the Super Falcons clinch a record-breaking 10th African championship title in Morocco, was a keen observer as the Super Eagles’ new Wolves forward, Toluwase Arokodare, came off the bench to score the match-winning goal.

Despite the packed stadium and passionate crowd cheering the Super Eagles, Nigeria was forced to dig deep for the win and much-needed three points to keep alive what was a fading 2026 FIFA World Cup dream.
Alozie took to social media to remind fans not to forget the Super Falcons, who continue to bring pride to Nigeria with their outstanding achievements.
“All the fans showing up for the Super Eagles game, don’t forget to show up to the Super Falcons too,” she urged.
Alozie’s message highlights the ongoing need for equal recognition and support for Nigeria’s female football stars, whose successes on the continental and global stage deserve just as much passion and backing from Nigerian football fans.
