Tusker FC begin their quest for the FKF Premier League title with a clash against Sofapaka at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Saturday.
Tusker FC have a perfect record against Sofapaka in the last five matches, including last season when they completed a double, which should give them confidence.
Tusker FC managed a second straight second place finish but will fancy their chances of going for the title in 2024-25.
Sofapaka, meanwhile, struggled and finished 16th and only escaped relegation after a playoff win over Naivas FC.
Tusker FC are favourites for this match considering their consistency in finishing in top three and have brought in a host of new players to help them boost their ambitions.
Defenders Alex Onchwari, Dennis Wanjala, playmaker Yussuf Nassir Mainge, midfielder Ryan Ogam, striker Boban Zirintusa, winger Eric Balecho and goalkeeper Joseph Ochuka have been brough in to bolster the squad with midfielder Teddy Dok Onyango promoted from the youth team.
The new goalkeeper expressed his goals for this season, saying that he is aiming for 10 clean sheets in the first half season. "This season, my goal is to surpass that number (12). If given the opportunity to play, I aim to keep at least 10 clean sheets in the first half of the season."
