Jorginho played a big role in the win as it was his shot from range that came off Emiliano Martinez for an own goal that gave Arsenal the lead against Aston Villa in the 93rd minute.

Speaking after the game, Jorginho described the drama at the end by simply saying, “That’s Premier League. That’s why it’s the best league in the World. It’s just beautiful.”

Jorginho credits halftime intervention for win

Jorginho would be happy to finally get some pressure off his shoulders after being labeled a bad omen for Arsenal following the Gunners dropping points in all the games they have played since his deadline day move from Chelsea.

The Italian midfielder was quick to note the importance of the win.

“Of course, [the win was] very important after the last results we had.” He said in his post match interview.

He also alluded to the victory being a result of the half time team talk after Arsenal had a difficult start against Aston Villa.

“The start wasn’t easy, we were not producing our game and then we came in the halftime, we have a talk, chat, and then we went back to doing the best, what we have to do and we changed the game.

Arsenal’s win was their first in February, and they will be glad to finally get up and running for the month with a tricky fixture against Leicester City coming up next.
