'Time to unite' - Son backs Postecoglou after disappointing defeat to Chelsea

Tottenham Hotspur captain Son Heung-min has urged his teammates to step up after their disappointing 4-3 defeat to Chelsea.

Spurs have endured a difficult run of form, winning just one of their last seven matches across all competitions.

The injury crisis, particularly affecting key defenders like Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, has further compounded their problems.

The South Korean forward, however, emphasised the importance of unity and support during this challenging period.

"We got to stick together in such difficult moments, it's very important and it's why we need big support," Son told Sky Sports.

He continued, "The players are very young and they need support more than we have had before. The fans were always supporting amazingly but I think it's time the players also need to step up."

Despite the setbacks, manager Ange Postecoglou continues to receive backing from his players.

Romero, who returned from injury for the Chelsea match, also expressed his support for the Australian coach.

"We are very happy with this staff, me and my colleagues. We love how they work and the football they try to play," Romero told Telemundo.

Tottenham will now turn their attention to the Europa League, where they travel to Scotland to face Rangers on Thursday.

After that, a Premier League clash against Southampton on Sunday provides another opportunity for the team to regain momentum and climb the table.
