The speedy striker was once tipped for the top but has failed to hit the heights expected of him culminating in the Foxes releasing him after promotion from the Championship.

Now Villa boss Unai Emery reckons he could be the man to revive Iheanacho's career and fire the Villans into Europe.

The battle for his signature is set to hot up in the coming weeks as several clubs circle for the Nigerian senior man.

But Villa will be hoping their talks with Monchi can give them the edge in the race for the Super Eagles star who is now a free agent.
