Manchester United were humiliated 3-0 by Manchester City, marking the manager's first loss in the Manchester derby since taking over the Red Devils last autumn.

The defeat also ended United's four-match unbeaten streak against the Sky Blues across all competitions.

This was also the second consecutive derby in which Amorim's men failed to score. The spring battle for Manchester ended in a goalless draw.

What Amorim said

After the game, Amorim said, as reported by Sportal, "That was the biggest difference. That was the biggest difference. We could have done better, especially with the second goal. We conceded goals that we could have avoided."

The Red Devils' coach elaborated that the Citizens were effective even with less possession because they knew exactly what to do with the ball.

"The biggest difference was that when we had transitions, we didn't score. In the second half, they were better in transitions, and we suffered in those moments.

"We can do better, that's clear, but again, there are transitions – the third goal, a lack of quality in the connections, people don't know who is going for the ball, and then the player is free to score.

"For the first goal, he's between four players, and we can be aggressive in that moment," Amorim added.
