"We love you!" - Bournemouth pour their hearts out! Cherries deliver emotional tribute to Ghanaian star Semenyo

AFC Bournemouth have paid a heartfelt tribute to Ghana international Antoine Semenyo following his brilliant performance against Premier League champions Liverpool in the season opener.

Semenyo was the standout player as the 2025/2026 Premier League campaign kicked off in spectacular fashion at Anfield on Friday night.

Liverpool kicked off their Premier League title defence with a thrilling 4-2 victory over Bournemouth at Anfield, a match that produced incredible moments as captured by Pulse Sports.

After their Community Shield disappointment, Arne Slot’s Reds were again forced to dig deep, this time they prevailed late on to secure all three points in a six-goal thriller.

Four different scorers found the net for the hosts: Hugo Ekitike opened his account on debut, Cody Gakpo added one, Federico Chiesa struck, and a superb super-sub restored the lead after Semenyo briefly equalised following Ekitike’s and Gakpo’s goals. Mohamed Salah then sealed the win.

Despite Liverpool securing a victory, it was Semenyo’s inspiring display that almost turned the tide for the Cherries.

The Ghanaian striker scored both of Bournemouth’s goals, leading his team from a two-goal deficit to nearly snatch a valuable point against the title holders.

Though his efforts were not enough to prevent defeat, Bournemouth made sure to show their appreciation for Semenyo’s outstanding individual performance and resilience.
