‘You saw it at OT first’ - Man United legend slams Amorim’s tactics against Leicester

Man United narrowly defeated Leicester 2-1 in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Friday night.

The Red Devils overcame a deficit to advance to the fifth round despite yet another lacklustre performance at Old Trafford.

Inside stoppage time, Harry Maguire headed home the winning goal after Joshua Zirkzee equalised.

After the game, Scholes voiced his disapproval of Amorim's general tactical setup in the win against Leicester.

Taking to Instagram, as reported by Daily Mail, the Manchester United legend wrote, “Inverted wingbacks... You saw it at OT first.”

Patrick Dorgu, who signed from Lecce for £29.4 million during the January transfer window, was given his debut but was used in a different position on the field.

Later, Amorim justified his unexpected choice to move Dorgu to the right by stating. “He played a lot of times in Lecce on the right. That is one of the characteristics that we pay attention to a lot, to have a player like him.

“He was a little bit anxious in the first touch with the ball. It's a different league for him, different speed of the game, but he did well. 

“He has space, he has strength, he's going to improve a lot. And we, as a team, we need to play better to help these new guys to perform at the right level. But the position, and you can see in Wyscout that he's played in both sides.”
