You won't go scottfree - Paqueta considers suing FA following betting charges
Paqueta was accused of intentionally receiving yellow cards in at least four matches: against Leicester (November 12, 2022), Aston Villa (March 12, 2023), Leeds United (May 21, 2023), and Bournemouth (August 12, 2023).
The player himself denied all allegations related to the charges and the FA conducted an internal investigation into the issue.
However, the midfielder was cleared of all match-fixing allegations nearly two years after the Football Association (FA) opened an investigation.
Paqueta wants to sue FA
Paqueta is reportedly considering legal action against the English Football Association (FA) after being cleared of betting charges by an independent regulatory commission, according to the BBC, via Sportal.
The 28-year-old Brazilian's lawyers are exploring all avenues for a lawsuit against the football governing body for lost earnings.
As the BBC notes, the announcement of the investigation led to the collapse of his potential €93 million transfer to Manchester City.
In other news, according to reports, West Ham intends to sue the Football Association (FA) to prevent Lucas Paqueta from being banned from football.
