The couple made it all the way to Texas, United States, to support and cheer their son as he battled with a host of other aspiring stars in 100 and 200-metre track races.
"So, this young man Solomon Kampala Kyagulanyi decided to take a completely different path from mine," Bobi Wine, a musician-turned-politician, said after watching Kampala race.
"It was the very first time for me to physically see him running, and I was quite impressed. The boy is fast!"

While Thierry Ssali is pursuing his football career, Solomon Kampala, on the other hand, is furthering his studies.
"Keep going, son. Impossible is nothing. Hopefully, one day, you'll proudly carry our national flag like all the legends that came before you."
Kampala is a 200m runner who even scooped bronze in the Ultimate Race Nights in Dubai in March 2023 after running 23.09 seconds, which is his recorded personal best to date.
