Laventa Amutavi was eyeing the Olympic Games next year but she is unsure of her chances and has given the reason behind that.

Ferdinand Omanyala’s fiancée, Laventa Amutavi, is unsure of how next season will turn out for her despite habouring the dream of sealing a ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

The mother of one has had an injury setback which has been a nightmare for her this season and she has her fingers crossed that all will be well.

“Currently, I’m still dealing with my injury…I thought it was just something minor but upon doing a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), I realised that it was a huge issue.

"At the moment, I’m looking forward to getting better because that’s what matters the most. Once I get better, we shall go hard for next season.

"Everyone’s dream is to get to the Olympic Games and I also want to go there. It seems impossible but I know we can get there,” Amutavi told Pulse Sports.

She added that she suffered an injury on her knee which swelled and has fluid, and a cyst due to high impact and pressure on her knees.

The 27-year-old revealed that she was not keen on working on the injury earlier which caused her more pain. She explained that she would be more careful next time to avoid repetition of the same case.

Despite having the injury, Amutavi never failed to show up at track events and continued running and jumping.

“I have learned that anytime I have an injury, I will be sure to take it slow. I will take time off to heal to avoid suffering more,” she said.
