The Basketball Africa League has confirmed that the 2024 Playoffs and Final will be held in the Rwandan capital Kigali yet again.

Rwanda’s attraction of big sporting events has been the talk since the inauguration of the BK Arena in Kigali. And that talk is not about to fade.

The Basketball Africa League has confirmed that the 2024 Playoffs and Final will be held in the Rwandan capital Kigali yet again.

“BAL and @RDBrwanda just announced a multi-year extension of their existing collaboration that will see the BAL continue to play games at @bkarenarw in Kigali, including the BAL Playoffs and Finals in 2024, 2026 and 2028,” a Tweet from BAL confirmed Monday morning.

Rwanda has already hosted the last three BAL Finals, starting with Season One, which was fully played at the BK Arena and the recently-concluded Season Three, which had full-to-capacity attendance for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out.

BAL also confirmed that: “@FlyRwandAir - Rwanda’s national airline - will continue as the Official Airline Partner of the BAL.”

BAL President Amadou Gallo Fall and Rwanda Development Board CEO Claire Akamanzi made the announcement.

Egyptian giants Al Ahly won the Season Three crown, defeating Senegal’s AS Douanes 80-65 in the final played in May.

Uganda’s City Oilers, who finished bottom of the log in the Nile Conference, earned the ticket to represent the country in next year’s competition after winning their eighth straight National Basketball League title.
