The UPDF Tomahawks will aim for a second straight win when they face the KCCA Panthers in the National Basketball League on Wednesday.

The Tomahawks kicked off their season with a convincing 63-45 win over the newly promoted Kampala Rockets last weekend.

Head coach Baker Kyambadde is optimistic about their chances of maintaining their winning streak. However, he acknowledges that rebounding will be a crucial area to focus on if they want to come out on top against the physically imposing Leopards.

"We know that they're a taller team, and that could pose a challenge in the paint, but we're ready to fight and control the boards to secure the win," Kyambadde said.

With a win in this game, the Tomahawks will become the second team to remain unbeaten in the league after City Oilers. Center Allan Wanyoto expressed confidence in the team's preparations for the season.

"We have been training hard every day, and we approach each game with a different mindset. We're all in good spirits and ready to give it our all." One player to watch out for in this game is Livingstone Kimambo, who had a significant impact on both ends of the floor in the Tomahawks' win over the Rockets, recording a game-high in blocks (1) and efficiency (15.0)

Meanwhile, the KCCA Panthers will be looking to bounce back from back-to-back defeats against the Ndejje Angels (71-69) and City Oilers (72-54).

The Panthers won both meetings against UPDF last season and will be confident heading into this fixture. First, however, the team will need to avoid losing their first three games of the season.

To secure a win, it will be crucial for the Panthers to "lock in" down the stretch during games, as both of their previous losses were suffered in the fourth quarter.
