Uganda is inches away from making the next level of qualification and they only need to clinch a spot in the final this Saturday.

Uganda's Women's Cricket team, the Victoria Pearls, clinched yet another victory at the ICC T20 Women's World Cup qualifiers as they comfortably dispatched Nigeria by six wickets.

The Thursday result at the Lakeside Oval, Entebbe, made it three victories on the bounce for the Pearls as they secured their semi-final spot.

Bowling first, the Victoria Pearls restricted the Nigerians to just 63 runs, losing nine wickets in 20 overs.

Skipper Consy Aweko yet again led by example, as she managed 3/16 in four overs.

This was supplemented by the impressive Evelyn Anyipo and Sarah Akiteng, who secured two wickets apiece.

In spite of the fall that came with Kevin Awino and Proscovia Alako's 36 runs in nine overs during the chase, it didn't phase the Victoria Pearls, who needed just half a run per over.

In the semi-finals, Uganda was joined by Namibia, Tanzania and Zimbabwe, while Botswana and Rwanda got axed.
