AFC Leopards coach Tomas Trucha has warned fans against expecting instant results as he feels his side will need time after experiencing many changes before and during this season

AFC Leopards coach Tomas Trucha has called for patience from the club’s supporters as Ingwe continues to struggle for positive results.

Leopards missed a chance to record their second win of the season when Kayci Odhiambo’s first-minute header was cancelled out by Brian Marita’s late leveler for Posta Rangers on Saturday, leaving fans disappointed.

Ingwe had put up a spirited display and should have added onto their tally were it not for some poor finishing with the draw leaving them in 15th place on the table on nine points, just two more than bottom-placed Sofapaka.

However, Trucha insists the situation at the club will not require a quick fix, hence the need for patience from the club’s supporters.

“I spoke with some of them [fans], I told them let us be patient, we are building the team,” said Trucha after Saturday’s match.

“AFC Leopards two weeks before the start of the league had no [new] players, coach [Patrick Aussems] left, Tom Juma came, unfortunately the results did not come, then he left again, I came. Too many changes so it is not easy.”

The Czech tactician gave the example of Kenya Police who he said have been also struggling to adapt to new coach Zdravko Logarusic’s tactics since he replaced Francis Baraza in early October while absolving his players from blame.

“Yesterday [Friday] I watched Ulinzi against Police, Ulinzi have had their coach for a longer time, they were more composed, more on the ball than Police. Police scored two goals but they are still adapting to the coach and the coach adapting to the players,” he added.

“We are working every day, every training, videos, tactics, duels and it will come. Please be patient, support us. We work very hard in training and in the field.”

Trucha replaced Tom Juma last moth and has overseen five matches, managing one win, two draws and as many defeats.
