AFC Leopards paid significant fees to Gor Mahia and Shabana for their participation in the 60th anniversary celebrations.

AFC Leopards has disclosed the appearance fees for Gor Mahia and Shabana FC in a detailed financial report issued a month after their grand 60th-anniversary celebrations.

Each of these premier football clubs was awarded Ksh 1 million highlighting Leopards' commitment to fostering unity and camaraderie within Kenyan football.

The historic event held throughout March was marked by a series of matches including a friendly Mashemeji derby' between AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia which ended in a draw with a goal from each side.

Similarly, the game against Shabana FC concluded with a 1-1 draw ensuring the festivities were not just celebratory but also competitive.

Elder Vincent Shimoli, Chairman of the Ingwe@60 committee, expressed his satisfaction with the outcome of the event.

"Ingwe@60 will go down in Kenyan football history as the first football club to celebrate such a milestone with other football clubs through their invite. The acceptance of other clubs to join AFC Leopards in the celebrations was a clear indication that the event was widely accepted," he stated as per the club portal.

The financial transparency in the released report shows that AFC Leopards managed to raise a significant amount through various activities, including an Inter-branches Tournament and several CSR initiatives.

This openness about finances, particularly the generous appearance fees, underscores the club's robust efforts in ensuring the event's success and the solid relationships built with their counterparts.

Shimoli also highlighted the immense support from various stakeholders, including sponsors like Betika, Azam TV, and MAA Hotel, along with local political and community leaders from counties such as Nairobi, Bungoma, and Kakamega.
