In a bid to secure more sponsorship deals and boost player morale, Young Africans SC has secured a new partnership.

The club announced a three-year agreement with Tanzanian insurance behemoth, National Insurance Company (NIC), during a press conference in Dar-es-Salaam on Monday.

The deal, worth Tzshs 900M – approximately UGX 1.3b, will fund the club's 'Player of the Month' award.

Hersi Saidi, the club president, expressed his enthusiasm: “Considering NIC's legacy as the longest-standing governmental institution, spanning 60 years."

"We are honored to collaborate with them. This contract will recognize and reward our best player each month," Saidi added.

Young Africans and their fierce rivals, Simba SC, are among the most well-funded clubs both regionally and on the African continent. Both boast substantial and passionate fan bases.

Uganda Cranes' vice-captain, Khalid Aucho, has thrived during his tenure with the Jangweni street-based team.

He has been instrumental in clinching consecutive domestic trebles and piloting the team to their debut CAF Confederation Cup final in 2023.

In 2022, 'Tiimu ya Wananchi' renewed their jersey sponsorship contract with premier betting company SportPesa, settling on a $5.2M deal spanning three years.

Other prominent sponsors include Jembe Energy drink and the GSM group of companies, both of which have been financial pillars for the reigning domestic champions.

Much of Young African's resurgence can be attributed to business tycoon and billionaire investor Ghalib Said Mohamed (GSM).

His significant investments since 2020 have catalyzed the club's success.

Under the guidance of coach Angel Miguel Gamondi, the team presently sits third in the standings with 12 points, trailing their arch-rivals and league leaders Simba SC by three points after five matches.
