The Ugandan sensation has been unveiled in North Macedonia following a successful stint at K'Ogalo.

Former Gor Mahia midfield sensation Shafiq Kagimu has officially been unveiled as a key addition to the North Macedonian football outfit, FK Rabotnicki.

The 24-year-old midfielder signed a two-year-contract with the club and is expected to strengthen the competition in Rabotnicki's midfield.

Kagimu bid a fond farewell to Gor Mahia at the close of the 2022/2023 Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) season, leaving on a high note after securing the league title.

The young midfielder's signature passing capabilities, demonstrated during his brief but impactful tenure with K’Ogalo, played a pivotal role in dictating the tempo of the team's matches.

In North Macedonia, Kagimu will have the opportunity to reunite with fellow countryman Halid Lwaliwa, the former Vipers SC captain. Lwaliwa, who spent the previous season at Breganilica Skip, is now part of the Rabotnicki setup.

Kagimu’s rise to prominence began in the Ugandan football scene, where he showcased his skills with URA for seven memorable seasons before making the pivotal move to Gor Mahia.

His international journey is equally noteworthy. Having made his debut for the Uganda national team in 2017, he quickly established himself as a vital asset in the midfield.

His tireless work ethic, combined with his ability to dictate play from the center of the pitch, earned him 13 caps for the Cranes.

Notably, Kagimu was a key figure in the Uganda Cranes squad that locked horns with Kenya during the intense 2022 Qatar FIFA World Cup qualifiers in Nairobi.

FK Rabotnicki are currently sixth in the North Macedonian League with three points from two matches. Played so far this season.
