CAF has selected Kenyan officials for the Confederation Cup final between Zamalek and Renaissance Berkane.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that Kenyan referee Peter Waweru Kamaku will lead the officiating team for the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup final between Zamalek of Egypt and Morocco's Renaissance Berkane.

The first leg of the final is set to take place on May 12th in Rabat, Morocco.

Peter Waweru Kamaku, a seasoned referee with experience in 42 continental matches, has previously shown his mettle in Al Ahly’s Champions League matches, earning praise for his performance.

This selection has sparked optimism within the Zamalek camp especially given Kamaku’s record with Egyptian teams in continental competitions.

Notably, Al Ahly has never faced defeat under his supervision, a streak Zamalek hopes will extend in their favor as they eye the continental title.

Supporting Kamaku, a well-coordinated team of officials from various African countries will be present to ensure a fair play as per Dzairsports.

His compatriots Gilbert Kipkoech Cheruiyot and Stephen Elizer Onyango will assist him on the lines, while Burundian Pacifique Ndabihawenimana will serve as the fourth official.

Further enhancing the accuracy of crucial decisions the match will also feature a Video Assistant Referee (VAR). This role will be held by Tunisian Hichem Guirat with assistance from South African Tom Abongile and Zambian Diana Chikotesha.

Additionally, Djiboutian Mohamed Yassin Younes has been appointed as the general match observer by CAF a role crucial for the overall monitoring of the game's conduct.

Overseeing the officials will be Somali Ali Mohamed Ahmed ensuring that the highest standards of refereeing are maintained throughout this crucial encounter.
