Erik Ten Hag has admitted that his team needs more signings to provide competition for his players.

Manchester United came back from a two-goal deficit to secure a remarkable win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

The Red Devils conceded two goals in the second half before making a comeback in the second half to claim all three points.

After the game, Ten Hag spoke about bringing in new signings in certain positions to provide competition for his players.

Ten Hag wants competition

With less than a week until the transfer market closes, the manager was questioned about potential transfers in his news conference after Saturday's stunning 3-2 comeback victory over Nottingham Forest.

Erik ten Hag thinks that Manchester United needs three goalkeepers of Premier League calibre and two competitors in each outfield position.

Ten Hag said, as reported by the Man United website, “If that is the case [players will depart the club], then we will bring you news.

“We are prepared well; we are fully in control so if there are transfers, we need to keep the squad competitive because it will be a tough season with many games to cover.

“In many positions you need double and in the goalkeeping position we need three really good goalkeepers who can all keep the Premier League standard so we will cover that.”

This summer, United has added Rasmus Hojlund, Mason Mount, and Andre Onana to their squad.

They are still in the transfer market for new players as they look to bring more competition to the team.
