"What goes around comes around. What you cooked in September, Almighty Allah (has) served you in January," Micho trolled.

Former Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic has cheered and toasted to Algeria's elimination from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Algeria finished rock-bottom in Group D, having garnered just two points in three matches, to be axed from the Ivory Coast edition.

The last nail in the coffin came at the hands of Mauritania, who edged them 1-0 on Tuesday.

This spurred Micho, who felt Algeria played dirty cards to allow Tanzania (then coached by Algerian native and former player Adel Amrouche) to qualify for the AFCON at the expense of Uganda.

"Dear Algerians I'm sorry for the unfortunate situation, next time better," Micho wrote on his X handle.

Uganda, who beat Niger 2-0 in the final qualification game, should have made it to the finals had leaders Algeria beaten Tanzania, but the latter tie ended in a barren stalemate.

"What goes around comes around. What you cooked in September, Almighty Allah (has) served you in January," Micho trolled.

Micho shared the sentiments of many other Ugandans, who believe Algeria intentionally allowed the stalemate with the Taifa Stars.

"Football is a cruel game. At least now you know how 50 million Ugandans felt in September as you were thinking you'd escape."

Months since the events where a section of Ugandans felt were 'syndicated,' Algeria has been dumped out, Amrouche has been sacked, and Tanzania are on the verge of exit.

The Taifa Stars sit at the base of Group F and will need to beat second-placed DR Congo on Wednesday to sail through.
