Paidha however represents a potential banana skin to Express. With Odoch still searching for a lifeline to save an underwhelming season, he insists he will not be taking chances in the Round of 16 clash.

James Odoch has demanded that Express FC respect Paidha Black Angels as the Red Eagles prepare to face the third division side in the Stanbic Uganda Cup on Wednesday.

Express hosts the West Nile side at the Muteesa II Stadium in Wankulukuku, with Paidha among only three third division sides that remain in the competition following Kiyinda Boys’ elimination by Bright Stars on Tuesday.

Paidha however represents a potential banana skin to Express. With Odoch still searching for a lifeline to save an underwhelming season, he insists he will not be taking chances in the Round of 16 clash.

“We’ve have not been having the best of results and we want to change things tomorrow,” Odoch said ahead of the game.

“The players should be aware of how difficult it will be, so we have to respect them. Paidha is a good team without a doubt but we are also better coming into this fixture.”

“We have a few injuries however we shall use the available players to see that we progress to the next round and keep our hope of lifting the silverware this season alive,” he continued.

The Red Eagles are currently under a dismal run in the Uganda Premier League, failing to win any of their last eight league games.

The Uganda Cup has provided a shimmering light to Express’ season, with identical 1-0 victories over Kajjansi United and Lugazi Municipal providing breaks to their league troubles.

Express has agonisingly come close to adding to their 10 Uganda Cup titles, and have suffered semi final defeat to Bright Stars in 2019 and Vipers SC in 2021.

The West NIle Regional League play off hopefuls will have a second crack at another cup run, after they were reinstated to the competition after a successful appeal against Kisugu United FC for use of an ineligible player during their Round of 32 match in February.

This is the third meeting and the Red Eagles have come out on top in the previous two fixtures against the opponents last played in the 2018/19 Season.

Midfielders Daniel Shabene, Ivan Mayanja and ENOCK Ssebaggala will have to pass a late fitness test. The rest of the squad is available for selection.
