Rio Ferdinand, a former Manchester United great, thinks that if Arsenal doesn't win the Premier League, Manchester United's season will be more successful than the Gunners.

While maintaining their top spot in the Premier League standings, Arsenal has lost four points during their previous two games, drawing 2-2 with Liverpool and most recently West Ham.

Before the top two sides in the league square off at the Etihad on Wednesday, April 26, in what might be a season-defining matchup, Arsenal will trail Manchester City by just one point if Pep Guardiola's squad wins their games in hand.

Ferdinand made 455 appearances for the Red Devils and won six Premier League titles, three League Cups, and the Champions League during his time there.

Ferdinand speaks on Arsenal not winning the league title

Mikel Arteta's side are on track to clinching their first Premier League title in 20 years but Ferdinand says if they fail to win it, United would have a better season than Arsenal.

Speaking on his Vibe with Five YouTube show, Ferdinand said, “If Arsenal don't win the league and Man United finish third and just the one trophy they have had a better season.

“If you're a player, forget fans, and you finish third and win a trophy, Carabao Cup whatever it is and the team above you finish second and win no trophies, who is the happier player?

United focused on reaching the finals of the remaining competitions

Although they are still technically capable of winning the league, Erik ten Hag's team is presently third in on the league table, 15 points behind Arsenal, and aren't in a position to contend for the title.

However, United are more focused on winning its final two games so that, in Ten Hag's first season with the team, it can end the season with three trophies.

Given that they wasted a two-goal lead against West Ham at the weekend and Bukayo Saka missed a critical penalty, Arsenal appears to be faltering in their title race at the worst possible time.
