The Tusker FC midfielder is unfazed by his national team call-up and aims for a consistent role with the Harambee Stars.

Tusker FC midfielder Chrispine Erambo has expressed his confidence and lack of surprise at being called up to the Harambee Stars squad for the forthcoming Four Nations Tournament in Malawi.

Despite it being his maiden summon to the senior national team, the 19-year-old's stellar performances have not gone unnoticed.

Having transitioned from Mombasa Elite in the National Super League (NSL) to Tusker, Erambo has quickly become a pivotal figure in the team's midfield, displaying both grit and skill in his defensive role.

"I was not surprised when I got the call up because I had been working really hard and I knew it would come," Erambo told the club website.

Erambo's ambitions stretch far beyond just being part of the squad; he aims to secure a regular starting position and follow in the footsteps of his role model, the legendary former Harambee Stars captain Victor Wanyama.

"The biggest thing in football is consistency and this is what has helped me since I came to Tusker. Every game I have had an ambition to be better and that is why this call-up has come," he reflected, emphasizing the importance of continuous improvement and consistency.

As Erambo prepares to join the national team camp on Friday for residential training, his focus is not only on making the final squad for Malawi but also on becoming a mainstay in the team.

"I don’t think there will be a challenge for me because this is a great opportunity and I am ready to take it,” he noted.

The youngster's commitment to maintaining his form and spirit in the team suggests that this call-up is just the beginning of what promises to be an illustrious career.

"I will keep doing what I have been doing in the team, work harder, same spirit, and I know this will not be the last call-up. Others will come," Erambo concluded.
