The Equator Rally is the second round of the 2023 African Rally Championship, and it will now be held on March 17 to 19 around Voi, Kenya.
The newly appointed WRC Safari Rally organizing committee has taken over the running of the Equator Rally, which was initially scheduled to be organized by the Sikh Union Club.

According to Jonathan Mueke, the Principal Secretary for Sports Arts and Culture, the government had pledged Kshs6 million to the Sikh Union Club for the Equator Rally, but there was a delay in getting the money.
As a result, the Sikh Union Club withdrew from organizing the rally, citing a lack of funds.
The government has now mandated the members of the newly appointed WRC Safari Rally Organizing Team to ensure the rally is run according to the entire program.
Led by Carl Tundo, the new WRC Safari Rally Organizing Committee has been promised Kshs9 million shillings for the rally.
Despite several changes made by Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba at the top of the team organizing the WRC Safari Rally in June, the junior team in charge of setting up the route has always remained the same for both the Safari Rally and Equator Rally, respectively.
The team is led by Gurvir Bhabra as Clerk of the Course, and he is assisted by Anwar Sidi, Nazir Yaku, and George Mwangi.
The Ministry of Sports has intervened to guarantee that the event organizers receive the necessary support to make it happen since they recognize the significance of the event.
The Equator Rally is an important event in the African Rally Championship, and the government is committed to ensuring its success.
The two-day rally will be held on the outskirts of Voi, where most of the competitive stages will be based around the Taita Estate.
The rally will cover a total distance of 421.08 km, with a competitive distance of 205.25 km. The event will be divided into two legs over two days, with a total of 10 special stages.
Two Ugandan crews, including Yasin Nasser and co-driver Alli Katumba in a Ford Fiesta R5 and three-time Uganda national rally champion Jas Mangat and co-driver Joseph Kamya.
