As the rally scene in Uganda and on the continent transitions, Capt. Mukula believes it's time for MRT to adapt and stay ahead of the curve by acquiring a state-of-the-art R5 car in the near future.

Capt. Mike Mukula's has made a bold commitment to uplift the Mukula Rally Team (MRT) team's game by investing in newer rally technology.

As the rally scene in Uganda and on the continent transitions, Capt. Mukula believes it's time for MRT to adapt and stay ahead of the curve by acquiring a state-of-the-art R5 car in the near future.

Stressing on the need to adapt to evolving technology, Capt. Mukula exclusively told Pulse Sports, “The vehicles in the current market are commendable, but they represent old technology.”

“As we eye an excellent season ahead, it’s crucial to re-energize and re-strategize," he added.

Capt. Mukula's faith in Junior's capabilities is evident as he said, “I am excited and determined to see Junior perform very well.”

“He is a very daring driver, very aggressive, and very determined.” With such praise, it's clear that Junior is an integral part of the team's future prospects.

He further teased an upgrade for the team, “If I continue to make a bit more money, I will definitely bring an R5. I want to tell you definitely that ‘Gakyaali mabaga’ (it is still early days).”

The mention of the R5, a high-performance rally car, has stirred considerable buzz. Noting the recent acquisition of a Hyundai R5 by driver Jas Mangat, Capt. Mukula emphasized, “That is the level we want to be at.”

He confidently added, “You watch this space, these guys are going to have a run for their money. Junior is going to come in with a bang. And I want to assure you that the future prospects for MRT excite me.”

While the focus remains on a promising end to this season, Capt. Mukula revealed, “We are preparing the cars simultaneously (mine and his). I want to see him challenge well for the few remaining rallies.”

Junior Mukula's journey in rallying has been commendable. After a memorable rookie season last year, he clinched the Sprint Championship, a much-deserved consolation for narrowly missing out on the Clubman Rally Championship (CRC).

This season, he stepped up to the national category, but his involvement so far has been irregular, taking part in only the Pearl of Africa Rally in May.
