Ugandan rugby will once again come to a standstill when the Lions Cup takes centre stage. Two of the most successful rugby sides in Heathens and Kobs will face off at Kyadondo rugby grounds.

With the Platinum Credit Heathens having won the reverse fixture 17-15 after a late Aaron Ofoywroth drop goal, it's safe to say both camps are psyched up to claim the day, which also determines who will go on to claim the league title.

Heathens vice captain Trevor Ochan told this website that the Lions Cup is always a big game, but on Saturday, teamwork will be critical for them to win.

"We have prepared well both mentally and physically for the game. We know what is at stake, and teamwork will be key for us to win," Ochan noted.

"We can't do this on our own. We need the Heathens army in the stands because those chants motivate us the more during the game," he added.

The full-back, who can also play at inside centre, added that losing isn't an option for the Kyadondo-based side because the target remains to stay in contention to retain the league.

"As a team, it's been tough, we want to get back to the top of the table, and we can only do that by giving everything to win games like these," he noted.

Kobs will be looking to avenge the first-round loss at home and throw a spanner in the works with the title race.

Both camps need to include a couple of players who were summoned to the Uganda Rugby Sevens squad preparing for the Rugby Sevens Challenger series.
