The Kabaka Coronation Rugby 7s Cup 2025 will launch the Uganda Sevens Series with a culturally rich tournament.

The 2025 edition of the Kabaka Coronation Rugby 7s Cup is officially set for Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd August 2025 at the Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

This year’s tournament holds special significance as it will open the 2025 Nile Special Uganda Sevens Series and mark 32 years since the coronation of His Majesty Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II, the Kabaka of Buganda.

Organised by the Buganda Kingdom in collaboration with Beyond Sports Organisation (BSO) and the Uganda Rugby Union, the event continues to merge the thrilling energy of rugby with cultural celebration and social advocacy.

Themed “Tubeere Balamu – Men Against AIDS to Save the Girl Child,” the 2025 tournament echoes the Kabaka’s enduring call for male leadership in the fight against HIV/AIDS, promoting responsibility and community awareness, particularly among the youth.

The official launch of the Kabaka Coronation Rugby 7s Cup 2025 will take place on Wednesday, 30th July 2025, at Lubiri, Mengo, where dignitaries from the Buganda Kingdom are expected to preside over proceedings.

The launch will further solidify the Kingdom’s commitment to leveraging sport as a platform for public health campaigns and youth empowerment.

Chairman of the Organising Committee, Senteza Charles, urged all partners, fans, and stakeholders to rally behind this landmark event that represents a unique blend of sport, heritage, and social transformation.
