NBS Sport telecast the Nile Special Rugby Premier League last season and started the Sevens season by showing the first round in Jinja.

After one circuit of the Nile Special National Sevens Championship, it has become uncertain whether rugby will be back on television soon.

NBS Sport, who televised the two days of action in the Stone City Sevens last weekend, have pulled out of showing the Kitgum Sevens.

“Valued viewers, We regret to inform you that, despite our best efforts, NBS Sport will not be able to broadcast the upcoming #Kitgum7s event as planned,” a statement from the Broadcaster revealed on Friday.

The news came as a big disappointment to rugby enthusiasts who have had the opportunity of watching the game from the comfort of their homes for the last one year.

The statement added: “We apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding.”

The reasons for pulling out have not been disclosed yet.

Uganda Rugby Union, meanwhile, has yet to come out to make a statement on the matter.

The Kitgum Sevens have already been rocked with questions about the standard of the pitch hosting the July 8th-9th action.

Patches of bare ground have left many concerned about player safety.

Stanbic Black Pirates won the first circuit in Jinja and will be looking to make it two in a row.
