Chelsea planning summer overhaul

Mount, who will enter the final year of his contract next season has attracted strong interest from Liverpool and Arsenal.

Chelsea would like to keep Mount at the club, both parties are far apart in contract talks, with the England international wanting a pay package that exceeds what Todd Boehly and the Blues are prepared to offer.

Liverpool are also keen on the Chelsea midfielder as Jurgen Klopp looks to rebuild his midfield ahead of next season. The Reds have pulled out of a move for Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham due to the huge asking price.

According to the Daily Mail, Mateo Kovacic is another player likely to be shown the door as the Blues aim to trim a bloated squad.

He has been a key player since arriving from Real Madrid in 2018, but the Croatia international may be deemed surplus to requirements in a squad that also includes the likes of Enzo Fernandez and N'Golo Kante.

Mendy could also be on his way out of Chelsea

A third potential departure this summer is Senegal's Edouard Mendy, who has been injured much of this season and has struggled to displace Kepa Arrizabalaga in the Chelsea goal.

Frank Lampard's side are winless since mid-March and have slid to 12th in the Premier League table despite spending £600 million on new players this season.
