Galatasaray have reportedly entered the race for Aston Villa’s World Cup-winning goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez and are prepared to compete against Manchester United and Atletico Madrid for his signature.
Galatasaray's interest
Fernando Muslera ended his 14-year association with Galatasaray at the end of the season and has now joined Estudiantes.
The Cim-Bom are now in the market for a new shot-stopper. They have been linked with a number of targets and have now entered the race for Martinez, as they are keen on strengthening their team ahead of next season's Champions League campaign.
According to a report from Foot Mercato, the Turkish champions have already begun negotiations with Aston Villa, and the Villans are believed to be amenable to the sale, as they are open to selling the Argentine this summer.
Man United and Atletico also in the race
As Pulse Sports reported, the 32-year-old World Cup winner signed a contract extension until 2029 last year; however, he is believed to want a fresh challenge.
MartÃnez dreams of a move to Old Trafford and has already rejected several offers, preferring to join his friend Lisandro MartÃnez.
The report suggests that a bid in the region of £40 million (approximately €47 million) would be enough to tempt Aston Villa.
Atletico Madrid have also registered interest and are expected to make a play for him, should they lose Jan Oblak this summer.
