Despite the dominant performance, Kane expressed a desire for more:

"It would have been nice to get another goal right at the end with that chance [from João Palhinha]," he said in an interview with UEFA.com via TNT Sports.

Harry Kane was named man of the match in the game.

However, he emphasised the importance of staying focused, noting that the first leg is just the beginning and that Leverkusen remain a formidable opponent.

The win was Bayern’s first against the Bundesliga champions since 2022 and Kane notes that the Bavarians must not be carried away.

“The first goal was a bit out of nowhere, wasn't a big chance, but we took that moment and I feel like we grew into the game."

He highlighted how the second goal, resulting from a Leverkusen mistake, and the subsequent red card, shifted momentum decisively in Bayern's favour.

Victor Boniface, the Nigerian striker for Leverkusen, watched from the bench, alongside compatriot Nathan Tella, as his team struggled to contain Bayern's onslaught.

Despite the significant deficit, Leverkusen will look to mount a comeback in the second leg, but Kane's performance has set Bayern firmly on course for the quarterfinals.
