Chelsea star Joao Pedro has assured fans that he is in good condition after a collision with Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli left him puking on the pitch.

The 23-year-old led the line for Brazil in their 3-0 win against Chile. In the 18th minute of the game, he collided with Martinelli and was left winded. 

His stomach was the impact spot, and he let out vomit on the pitch. However, after attendance from the medical staff, he was able to continue, and he played until the 71st minute, when he was replaced by Kaio Jorge.

What Pedro said 

After the match, the former Brighton striker assured fans that he was okay. “I was following the action; I was running to try to catch the ball,” he said, per Goal

“When I looked ahead, Martinelli was there. We collided there, and I received a blow to the stomach. I felt a little bad, but I was calm afterwards.”

Pedro is still relatively young in his Brazil career, with the Chile match being his fourth appearance for his country. He expressed his happiness to represent his country and Chelsea.

"I'm very happy to play good football for Chelsea and to be back with the Brazilian national team. I think every boy's dream is to be here, and today I was able to start playing. I only missed a goal, which is partly due to that. But in the end, what matters is the victory."
