Specifically, Nuno Espirito Santo's side is close to acquiring James McAtee from Manchester City.

Nottingham Forest has reportedly agreed personal terms with the English player and is now aiming to reach an agreement with Manchester City to complete the transfer. While nothing is finalised, there's optimism within the club that the 22-year-old attacking midfielder will join their ranks.

McAtee finished last season with 27 appearances and seven goals across all competitions, having been given significant playing time by Pep Guardiola.

He boasts a total of 34 appearances and seven goals for Manchester City, and has won two Premier League titles and a UEFA Super Cup.

Nottingham Forest kicks off its Premier League campaign at home against Brentford on Sunday, August 17th.

However, Nottingham Forest will be playing in the Europa League after UEFA ruled out Crystal Palace.

The ruling stated that American businessman John Textor held “control or influence” over both the Eagles and Olympique Lyonnais as of March 1, violating UEFA regulations that prevent clubs under the same owner or with major influence from the same individual from competing in the same European competition.
