Pulse of the Day makes its debut at the 34th Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON2023, four days into the competition, with Namibia’s historic first a worthy start.
The juicy tournament magazine that takes you through the best match day moments looks at how Namibia’s Brave Warriors stunned Tunisia to record an AFCON first.
Pulse of the Day: Namibia vs Tunisia
The AFCON2023 has proven to be the competition for the underdogs so far after Namibia produced the biggest shock of the tournament so far.
Namibia’s Warriors walked their name on the pitch to shock former AFCON champions Tunisia 1-0 in their Group E opener on Tuesday evening in Cote d’Ivoire.
There were many heroes on the pitch for the Namibians, including the impressive goalkeeper, Lloyd Kazapua, who produced four saves to keep the Eagles of Carthage at bay at Stade Amadou Gon Coulibaly.
However, it was Dean Hotto who scored the decisive goal that proved to be not just historic but also a shocker in the AFCON2023.
Some of the pre-tournament favourites have already dropped points, but Tunisia’s defeat is the biggest shock so far in Cote d’Ivoire.
