Stray bullets hit Super Eagles as fans blast NPFL clubs after watching Remo Stars U-18s outclass Abia Babes
Beyond Limits Football Academy has won the hearts of Nigerians after some sublime performances at the ongoing Valuejet Cup.
The Remo Stars boys have proved a handful for their senior colleagues in the Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, in the competition in Ikenne.
Beyond Limits are through to the semifinals without losing a single game in a group which has three NPFL teams.
Beyond Limits’ road to semis
The Remo Stars boys came into the competition only after another NPFL side, Sunshine, originally picked by the organisers, pulled out at the last minute.
But after three matches, the young Sky Blues are on their way to the semifinals after taking five points from a possible nine.
Beyond Limits kicked things off with a dominant performance against Ibadan side, Shooting Stars, a match that saw them take the lead via Onyebuchi Obasi.
They could have added to the scoreline but the woodwork denied them on several occasions before the Oluyole Warriors avoided an embarrassing defeat with a beautiful last header to share the spoils.
In their second game of the tournament, they faced former NPFL champions Rivers United and impressed in what ended in a goalless affair.
The No Limits boys then reserved the best for last when they overwhelmed another NPFL side, Abia Warriors, in their final game to book a spot in the last four as reported by Pulse Sports.
Super Eagles called out as Nigerians react
Having watched the under-18 boys in three consecutive outings, Nigerians have reacted to their performance.
Following the win over Ochendo Babes, the fans who watched the game via YouTube could not hide their feelings with many trolling NPFL sides while others called out the Super Eagles.
