Transfer News: Man United send first bid worth ₦99 billion to Brentford for Mbeumo
Manchester United have reportedly begun negotiations with Brentford for Bryan Mbeumo and have sent their first official bid to the Bees for the Cameroonian.
Man United's offer
According to a report from David Ornstein, relayed by Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United made a £45 million bid, plus £10 million in add-ons, as their initial offer.
Per the report, the Bees are holding out for something more and are referencing the £70 million the Red Devils paid to Wolves for Matheus Cunha.
The negotiations are underway, and Brentford would be willing to listen to a figure below their ask. However, they have deemed Manchester United's first offer insufficient.
Mbuemo only wants Manchester United
While the negotiations continue, the Red Devils will not have to worry about rival clubs poaching Mbeumo.
As Pulse Sports reported, the 25-year-old wants the move to Old Trafford and has prioritised Manchester United over the likes of Aston Villa, Newcastle, and Tottenham.
In addition to the negotiations with Brentford, the Red Devils hierarchy have also begun talks on personal terms with the winger. Mbuemo is said to have communicated his wage demands and wants £250,000 a week, a figure five times his current wages.
