We dominated and lost with respect, Gaddafi's coach says after losing to Vipers

Coach David Mutono is hopeful that his Gaddafi FC will be a tough nut to crack despite losing their opening 2023 StarTimes Uganda Premier League match 2-1 to Vipers on Sunday.

The Soldier Boys returned to their Gaddafi Arena, a different team that passed the ball and used pace away from the dull defensive structure that they played under Wasswa Bbosa.

Despite controlling a better part of the first half but they were punished by Milton Karisa and Mohammed Saleem for two goalkeeping errors.

Mutono says the Soldier Boys lost with respect.

“We lost the game with respect because Gaddafi dominated the game, but the opponents used their chances well, and we failed,” Mutono told Pulse Sports after the game.

“I have many new players who are adapting to the systems, but at least you have seen the flair and movements. I think by now we’re 65 percent because we need to improve on the combination play and fitness, which take time, but at least it’s coming,” he added.

Gaddafi will return to action on Friday 22nd September, with an away trip to Lugazi to face URA FC.
