Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen has revealed why he chose to sign for Turkish giants Galatasaray, despite big money offers from elsewhere.

Osimhen joined Galatasaray after a lengthy transfer saga that linked him to top clubs like Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool, Juventus, and Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal.

Osimhen reveals reasons for joining Galatasaray

Speaking at his unveiling at Rams Park on Saturday before Galatasaray’s pre-season friendly against Lazio, the Nigerian explained how his family shaped his choice.

“It’s a decision I made earlier than expected. But to an extent, I already associate with Galatasaray fans,” Osimhen said, per Forza Cimbom.

“My daughter is more inclined to Galatasaray than me. I’ve seen how she associates herself with her Turkish friends; she speaks of me every time and the club.

"Apart from the fans that drove me with the love and passion they have for the club, my daughter was key to making this decision much easier for me. All my family love Gala. So I can’t see a reason not to be here.

"That’s why I call it home. I will enjoy myself till I’m not needed here.”

Osimhen’s permanent transfer, finalized on Thursday, saw Galatasaray pay a club-record €75 million, shattering the previous Turkish transfer record.

During his loan stint, the 27-year-old endeared himself to fans of the league champions, scoring 37 goals and adding eight assists.
