The Nigeria international joined the Foxes in January 2017 and has since featured in 303 games for the East Midlands club, scoring 18 times.

A large number of those games came in the Premier League, where Ndidi featured 220 times — he made 32 appearances in Leicester's 2023-24 Championship-winning campaign — and played 28 times in the 2024-25 campaign as the Foxes could not avoid immediate relegation.

Since Leicester’s relegation, Ndidi’s future has come under the spotlight with several outlets reporting that the midfielder could leave the King Power Stadium.

These reports have linked the Nigerian player with transfers to well-known clubs like Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund, Manchester United, Juventus, Fenerbahce and even teams from the Saudi Pro League.

However, the most serious interest has seemingly come from Fenerbahce’s Turkish rivals Besiktas, who are reportedly nearing personal terms with the 28-year-old.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the agreement between Ndidi and the Istanbul-based club is nearly finalised, but the Super Lig giants are awaiting clarification on a transfer fee from the English club and additional details from Ndidi.

Further reports suggest that Besiktas could get the transfer done for as little as €9 million following Leicester’s relegation from the Premier League; however, those rumours are unconfirmed.

Ndidi is back training with Leicester ahead of the 2025-26 Championship campaign, playing in pre-season matches against Zalaegerszegi and Karpaty Lviv.

The Nigerian did not feature in the 3-1 defeat by Koln in late July and was an unused substitute in August 3's 2-0 win over Serie A side Fiorentina.
